- Ramjan is the greatest festival if Islam. It is related to Muslim people all over the world. It is celebrated according to their lunar calndar. Each year it generally falls back by 15 days. During this festival, Muslims observe a month long fasting . They take food only at night during the whole month. This fasting period is known as Ramjan. Accroding to the Our an , fasting begins each morning when the white thread can be distinguished from the black thread of dawn. It continues until sunset . The fasting consists of abstinence not onely from food and drink but also from smoking sexual relations and the inhaling of fragrence.Fasting during Ramjan is the fourth of the five pillars of Islam, the essential teligious duties of all adult Muslims. All Muslims who have reached puberty and who are mentallu and physically able to sustain fasting are obliged to fast during Ramjan.
